Follow one real piece of work.
Take an actual approval, order or service request from its beginning to a useful finish. Note the people involved, the systems that hold the information and the point where someone has to step in.
Choose the source of truth.
Agree which system owns each record. A connection needs clear rules for updates, duplicate records, failed transfers and who can correct them. Otherwise the same uncertainty simply moves into software.
Keep a human way through.
If a connection fails, the team needs a visible status and a recovery route. Scope permissions and handover states alongside the ordinary happy path.
Introduce it in a manageable step.
Try the complete workflow with the people who use it. Include data migration only where it is needed, and agree how to revert or continue manually if the introduction fails.
